Let me introduce myself

Hello. Let me introduce myself. I am Susan Bawcom, a 65 year old married woman living in central Texas in Leander, just north of Austin. As a mother of two, step-mother of three, and a grandmother of ten, I'm adventuring into the world of Affiliate Marketing late in my career. My training and career has been in various areas of business management and ownership, specializing in software solution development. Your total life experiences sum to the person you are at any point in time. I'm planning to use the best parts of my knowledge and experience to work this new business into new income streams as I look forward to my retirement.

Travel is one of my favorite things to do. My husband and I have been so fortunate to travel to many places around the world. Even so, I don't take it for granted that I am one blessed person to be able to live my dream and even beyond my dreams. No resting on my laurels, this one. I'm blasting into the next phase of my life. A new challenge is before me.

Affiliate Marketing interests started with a need to obtain donations to a charity that I founded several years ago named Animals Staying Alive, Inc. I love animals and have almost always had pets in my home. A few years ago one of our dogs became very sick after having been dosed with a flea, tick, and heartworm pill that was 10 times stronger than for a dog his size. He recovered but, less than two weeks afterward we noticed his eyes were glazing over. Several veterinary specialists later, we discovered his retinas were failing. He went totally blind within just a few more days. The veterinary eye specialist offered us one option to save his sight; a laser treatment to tack down his retinas that could only be performed by one of four vet retinal specialists in the USA. The procedure cost was astronomical. We were blessed to have the ability to pay for travel and the procedure in both of his eyes. Within a few days, we flew from Austin, Texas to Chicago, Illinois to restore his sight. It worked! Afterward, when we discussed this miracle, I began realizing how many animal caretakers want to save their own animals from suffering but don't have the financial means. Thus, we started this charity and had it approved by the IRS. The problem then became how do we get anyone other than ourselves to donate to this cause?

Creating a website and the FaceBook page was easy for me as it was within my IT experience. Fundraising was not. Research on internet marketing introduced me to experts in the industry. I purchased one course and began flying through the training. Training started informing me of all the tools I needed to be able to 'work' the business; list builder, funnel builder, tracking, autoresponder, graphic designer, and on and on. Don't fall as I did into buying everything that was recommended in the course AND everything all these folks began emailing me that I must have.
